In a world ravaged by war and dominated by magic, you must rise up to face the Chaos hordes. Playing solo or with up to four players in local or online co-op, choose a hero from four character classes and prepare for epic battles wielding some of the most powerful artefacts of the Old World.
Warhammer: Chaosbane is an incredibly entertaining game but at this point in time, that fun lasts as long as players continue to be invested in the repetitive nature of an ARPG. Right now, the pool of enemies, while aesthetically cool, begin to feel tired after awhile. It takes a considerable amount of time before modified enemies show up and the variety of equipment might not be enough for some players to invest the time it will take to soar to the highest echelons of skill.
Warhammer: Chaosbane borrows the elements that made past action RPGs of the same genre so addicting , perhaps sticking a bit too closely, resulting in a game that may feel a little too familiar for veterans of the genre.
A simple, accessible, and fun action RPG that’s particularly good fun in co-op. Generic as they come, but what’s here is well balanced, detailed and smooth in motion. [Issue#164, p.92]
Warhammer: Chaosbane brings excellent class design and interesting builds, but forgets the variety in enemies, environments, and loot.
Warhammer: Chaosbane is a cool ARPG that would have been better if it wasn't a current gen game but unfortunately, we're not in 2005 anymore. For all of its flaws, the combat system is still well done yet the problem is that it feels like a bare minimum product. The fact that there are no optional missions and only a few bosses and different kinds of enemies makes it get repetitive very quickly.
As it is now, it’s a bit half-baked and feels rushed.
Even the few inventive stretches of the game are ultimately driven into the ground by a punishing sense of repetition.
