Fear the wolves. They are cold, they are hungry - and they will stop at nothing to survive… Ragnarok. Legend has it that when the coldest winter descends, the Jotan will return to take their vengeance against the Gods of Asgard.
The world is on the road to perdition and the fate of Midgard hangs in the balance. But when the Fire and Frost Giants begin to merge their armies, they encounter the clan of the Ulfung – the Wolves of Midgard. Bloody, but unbowed following the destruction of their village, this notorious band of ostracized Viking warriors are determined to seize their destiny and save the world.
As clan chief, you must save Midgard from complete annihilation, and spearhead the charge to vanquish the fiendish creatures of the Fimbulwinter. The Action RPG Vikings: Wolves of Midgard takes you to the Shores of Midgard, a world based upon the mythology and history of the Vikings, but with a fantasy twist. Battle the fearsome Jotan, hordes of terrifying undead monstrosities and the beasts of Ragnarok, as you strive to survive the growing cold that threatens to end all life, forever.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a more than a decent clone of Diablo it's a game that you have to be motivated to advance and kill everything that is in front of you, aiming to grow your character to be able to face strong enemies. Its great setting and development contrast with its repetitive action that will not fit all players and the high launch price.
The Viking setting and Norse mythological themes make for a perfectly interesting alternative to Diablo's standard holy-warriors-versus-demons setting.
This hack & slay doesn’t show any major flaws, but it also doesn’t excel at anything. Solid entertainment if you’re finished already with Van Helsing and need another helping of blood, guts and loot.
Viking: Wolves of Midgard is a solid clone of the genre, but ultimately feels half-baked. The asking price feels a bit too steep when compared to other games, but I did have a good time playing co-op. I just wish there was more, and it was more polished. This will be a great game when it drops in price, but for $60 it is hard to recommend it over others doing similar things.
Vikings Wolves of Midgard is a passable Diablo clone, full of fresh ideas for the genre, none of which really fits into the gameplay, let down by repetition and peculiar game design choices. There are far better similar games on Xbox One, and it's very hard to recommend this one over Diablo III, Bastion or Hyper Light Drifter.
If you’ve worn out your Diablo disc, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard may fill a tiny bit of the void but mostly, its painful similarities yet numerous missteps will likely just frustrate you.
As unmemorable as it was disappointing, Vikings—Wolves of Midgard misses the mark. With a flat story, uninteresting combat made worse by the game’s annoying exposure system, and a boring environment to boot, this title doesn’t compare to its many well-liked peers within the ARPG genre.
