Vambrace: Cold Soul is a roguelike fantasy-adventure set amidst a frozen landscape. Plan your expeditions underground, then journey to the cursed city surface with your team of heroes. Wield unique powers, avoid dangerous traps, brave strange encounters, and survive deadly combat.
Vambrace Cold Soul is another interesting experiment with genre mixing, in a Darkest Dungeon like setting but frozen solid. Artwork and music are downright amazing and the game should be played just to experience that. Only faults are with some random annoying bugs, no keyboard control changing, and a bit of a slow pace.
Vambrace is an interesting game with a nice story but with a bad interface and some difficulty spikes, especially in the first few hours.
Vambrace: Cold Soul is an engaging and intriguing offering for roguelike fans, mixing fantasy, anime, and horror. Unfortunately, barebones combat and a somewhat inconvenient user interface can hamper your enjoyment.
Bloober respects the formula created in the original for this sequel, changing the scenario, but keeping its horror approach. That means a lot of linearity, repetitive resources and jump scares, but also a few lessons learned.
A relentless roguelite with a solid foundation. Beautiful but grindy, it lacks a complex story, deep characters, and emotional impact.
This is the definition of unfulfilled potential. Vambrace: Cold Soul may look competent at first, it may even spark your interest, but underneath its nice visual overcoat hides a bad story and unappetizing gameplay.
Vambrace: Cold Soul is a confused title that apparently wants to deliver a rich story and hard choices, but due to strange systems, exploitable mechanics and weightless characters, none of it feels consequential in any way.
