In Unravel 2, you play as two Yarnys (tiny magical creatures made of yarn and joined by a thread) in a puzzle-platforming adventure. Run, jump, swing, and solve your way through a world of natural beauty and shadowy dangers, either on your own or with a friend in local co-op.
Fans wanted Unravel Two on Switch and they got it. While it took some patience, the wait was certainly worth it. [Issue #39 – May/June 2019, p. 30]
Some games are simply a pleasure to play from beginning to end, and Unravel Two is one of them. It’s a masterfully crafted adventure that keeps you glued to your screen, and melts your heart as the credits roll.
Unravel Two lands on Nintendo Switch with the same magic it had a year ago. A beautiful game that believes in itself to offer a great coop experience with really inspired artistic and level design.
Although I would’ve liked more challenge in the campaign, I still had fun with Unravel Two right up until the very end. Yarny is an adorable character that stole my heart right from the beginning, and the unique puzzles that come from both characters being literally strung together made for a fresh spin on co-op puzzle solving. I feel like I missed out on something special by playing by myself, and I think that if you get the opportunity you should definitely play the whole campaign with a friend.
Unravel Two is a short but sweet little adventure that makes interesting use of its two yarn-crafted characters. While playing the game alone is still an enjoyable option, its focus on light puzzling is definitely more fun when tackled with another player. A visually impressive and charming treat.
Despite the beautiful and fluent gameplay, the game has its flaws on the Switch.
Unravel Two lands on Switch losing a little bit of its visual quality, but gaining the possibility of share its gameplay in any place and moment (portable mode included). It doesn't have new content, so if you played it when it was launched last year, you won't find anything new. It's the very same charming platform game with physics puzzles.
