The Transformers are back, and this time they’re in the hands of acclaimed developer PlatinumGames, who has married their over-the-top, stylish action with a major dose of nostalgia to create a Transformers game like none other. The Autobots face off against Decepticons when Megatron discovers a way to harness the enormous power of Plasma Energy to Cyberform Earth. Features:Surprise your enemy: PlatinumGames signature fast action allows instant robot to vehicle attacks, slam downs, counterattacks, and infinite combos for a unique master combat system.
Five playable Autobots: Wreak havoc on the Decepticons as OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, SIDESWIPE, WHEELJACK and GRIMLOCK. Actors from the original TV series: Reprising their roles are Peter Cullen (OPTIMUS PRIME), Dan Gilvezan (BUMBLEBEE), Frank Welker (MEGATRON and SOUNDWAVE), and more. Play again and again: 5 difficulty levels with overhauls in enemy composition, combined with a deep customization system, means hours of intense gameplay.
TRANSFORMERS Devastation is also available on PC & XBox One.
Platinum never ceases to amaze me, and thankfully Transformers: Devastation continues to prove why Platinum Games is the best action genre developer in the business today.
Transformers Devastation is a fantastic love letter to G1 Transformers fans, and a great game in its own right.
Transformers Devastation is a great example of how to take a licensed property and turn it into a quality title. While the game is a little on the short side, it's strong from start to finish.
This is unquestionably the best Transformers game ever, a game to satisfy a yearning fanbase, a game instantly accessible for any non-affiliate who simply wants a good hack ‘n’ slash, and a sufficient platform on which to build a series.
Transformers: Devastation is the best that the genre has given recently and it's a game clearly by Platinum Games. However, the game is perceived a bit short and it's never an expensive production. The cel shading aesthetic works and you remember the TV series of 80s. It features the quick fights and the vehicles you want.
Finally, a Transformers game where the characters look like plastic toys. While limited, this is no mere cash-in. [Dec 2015, p.85]
This isn't a passive action game, because if the player pays attention, the opportunities to prove him or herself are abundant.
