The Crew Wild Run takes players to what's known as The Summit, a massive gathering of drivers and racing enthusiasts facing off in a series of extreme events in well-known American locations. Players put their skills to the test competing to find out who would become king of the road. Players are free to choose dragsters designed to reach ridiculous top speeds, drift cars that demonstrate inverted control angles, unstoppable monster trucks that can perform backflips and jumps, or a wide range of agile motorcycles from respected brands geared to take on the fastest cars on and off the road.
They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, but Wild Run introduced so many vital improvements that in my case it caused love at second sight. [01/2016, p.63]
Huge atmospheric open world racing game which lacks really good multiplayer ideas. In combination with the main game it's superior to similar games like Need for Speed.
The core achievement of the game, that it offers a map of the United States that gamers can explore and exploit however they see fit, remains impressive and racing game lovers should try the core package before seeing whether they are interested in what Wild Run has to offer.
With a few quick new rides, gameplay types and other possibilities to enjoy cars in a huge open world, Wild Run is a good addition to The Crew. The price is a bit high though.
Wild Run clearly makes the gameplay in The Crew more attractive and varied, but the price seems to be inadequate to the offered content. Worth considering if it's on sale.
News in the form of dynamic weather, monster trucks, drifting, dragster racing and motorcycles cannot hide the persistent flatness of a game content. [Issue #259]
