Spellcaster University is a fun little experience where you can finally channel your inner Dumbledore. It has some design issues with its âtoo much rng, too little planningâ gameplay loop, but it is an exceptionally fun game that makes it that much more worthwhile if you are an HP fan or just love some good fantasy managerial sim.
Deep, rich, with a great replayability, Sneaky Yak offers a fresh experience with a low price and Spellcaster University is definitively fun and a great surprise. Don't miss it.
Despite some issues, Spellcaster University is a fun, casual and unique experience that is worth trying for fans of its many genres. However, I could not help but feel that the small studio spread itself thin by mashing together different mechanics. As Sneaky Yak Studio will continue the active development of Spellcaster University for the foreseeable future, they will hopefully solve some of the issues that bring down an otherwise good debut game.
