Space Pirate Trainer is the official trainer for wannabe space pirates on the HTC Vive. Remember those awesome classic arcade cabinets? Imagine if those were immersive⊠Space Pirate Trainer PC puts you in one of those; fighting off relentless waves of droids with all the weapons and gadgets you would ever need as a Space Pirate. You better dodge some of those incoming lasers though, since just using your shields won't get you in the top rankings.
Pick up your blasters, put on your sneakers, and dance your way into the Space Pirate Trainer hall of fame. No real droids where harmed during the creation of this demo. Use your straps and stay in your VR area to make sure no humans will be harmed.
If you already own it it's worth going back to, if not it's worth taking a look.
This is definitely one of the better VR âturretâ shooters â the controls are spot on, the challenge level adequate. Unfortunately there is not enough content.
Overall, Space Pirate Trainer is a lot of fun and addictive, and features great mechanics, but itâs also a bit vanilla and predictable. Itâs done well, but with myriad VR wave shooters to choose from now, it doesnât stand out as novel or overly exciting. What it is, though, is a solid, energetic VR wave shooter that continued to challenge me and made me come back to try and get my initials emblazoned on the various leaderboards. Just like my old arcade days, I found myself saying âLet me try just one more time to get my initials on the board.â
