A new sequel in the PAC-MAN Championship Edition series comes to next-generation consoles and PC. Taking highlights from the past, PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 takes the best aspects from Championship Edition and Championship Edition DX and evolves the game for the future Featuring 3D graphics and funky visuals, the latest version of the classic game takes chomping and chasing through mazes to a new level.
It changes up the formula enough to keep things feeling fresh, its look and feel is fantastic, and the overall package will keep fans playing for hours on end. It really is a sequel worth the Pac-Man name, and I for one absolutely love it.
PAC-MAN Championship Eidtion 2 certainly takes a number of liberties with the traditional PAC-MAN gameplay, but it stills manages to feel like a PAC-MAN game at its core.
What at first feels more like a Benny Hill chase reveals itself to be another fine reinvention of this classic. [Nov 2016, p.112]
Pac Man Championship Edition 2 is a solid title; rich, funny and well developed. Still, it can not match the incredible Championship Edition DX.
Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 The new mechanics are somewhat interesting, but ultimately make it a less satisfying experience than Championship Edition DX. Also, making ghost eating a cutscene seriously breaks the flow of the game. [Nov 2016]
Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 shines in all the same ways as Pac-Man Championship Edition, just with a light that's a little duller. Levels are still fun, they're just not as fun. The action still has a funky, flow-y groove, just not as funky or flow-y.
The creators of Pac-Man CE 2 had the difficult task of remixing a game that has already been expanded upon and reworked to the point of refinement, and they chose to pile on the complexity anyway. The result is a Frankenstein’s Pac-Man—a mess of features and modes that, despite all the power pellets and fruit and ghosts, still left me feeling hungry.
