NASCAR Heat 5 challenges you to become the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion. Features all the official teams, drivers and cars from the three NASCAR National Series as well as the Xtreme Dirt Tour, racing on 39 authentic tracks.
It’s a fun game with a deep Career Mode and it still manages to do a good job of capturing stock car racing in game form. PC would be the visual preference, but with some other options on PC for stock car racing, it may take a back seat. The lack of an online community to race against on PC is also alarming.
I did ask myself one question at the end of it all, would I suggest this title for others to play? The answer is well, yes. It comes down to your play style and expectations from a racing game. If you are looking for a realistic racing sim that will put you in the action then I do suggest this title. If you get frustrated easily with keeping that perfect line you may want to steer clear of this title or be prepared to use lower difficulty and move up as you progress.
Although not awful, NASCAR Heat 5 feels like a rehashed version of its already underwhelming predecessor. The small quality of life improvements do not make up for its disappointing lack of any meaningful innovation.
