Your friend Bess Marvin is kidnapped and the only chance you have to save her is by solving a 300-year-old Bahamian mystery! Dangerous waters keep treasure hunters from exploring the reefs around Dread Isle, but this remote island might hide the riches of El Toro's lost fleet! Can you, as Nancy Drew, track down the treasure before time runs out?.
Ransom of the Seven Ships belongs with the best of the series, and is definitely a must-have for any fan of the series.
As the franchise continues to grow and improve, with a casual game series, Nancy Drew Dossiers, also gaining popularity, now is the time to get on board with the ubiquitous teen detective and her international crime solving.
Overall, Ransom of the Seven Ships is a solid adventure, clever and entertaining.
Probably one of the best Nancy Drew game installments that I’ve played to date, given its higher challenge level and large variety of puzzles.
While navigating through the game is fun, it feels more like a series of puzzles linked by a thin narrative thread rather than a mystery game that features puzzles. Still, there's a lot variety and challenge to be had, and the hours seemed to while away while I was playing the game.
Overall, I think this game will be good for newcomers due to the large number of standalone obstacles.
Serious Nancy Drew followers won't be disappointed by her latest mystery adventure. Her Interactive is definitely on the right track, but there's still further to go to make this series shine to all but the most devout players.
