Aftermath features a brand-new cinematic story centered around trust and deceit. Fire God Liu Kang, the new keeper of time and protector of Earthrealm, looks to secure the future he envisions. In order to do so, he is forced to enlist the help of some unlikely allies and familiar foes.
Players will have to decide who they can trust and who they must defeat with fate on the line. Forge a new history. New Playable Fighters Sheeva and Fujin triumphantly return, with special guest RoboCop making his debut in Mortal Kombat.
Dead or Alive, they're coming with you! Stage Fatalities The Klassic finishing move is back! Use the world as your weapon, and watch as the environment engulfs, eviscerates and destroys your opponents. Friendships You can dance if you want to. Friendly finishers are back for the entire roster.
Kill them with Kindness as the ultimate troll move. New Stages Kronika's Keep and Soul Chamber will be brand-new additions. Aftermath will also bring the klassic Dead Pool stage and RetroKade featuring favorites from MKI-III.
I suppose the best way to describe Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is as a finishing move of its own. Though, it’d be a Friendship, rather than a Fatality. It’s in many ways a means of NetherRealm showing appreciation for the series’ history. The free additions pay tribute to the past by bringing back old moves in a gorgeous way. The paid elements give two more classic fighters a chance to return, Robocop a chance to dole out justice, and an even better capper to a story that gives returning fighters who showed up as DLC a place in the story. It’s all handled incredibly well and, to be honest, even people who just come back to the game for the massive free update and its balance updates and additions will be more than satisfied.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is a fantastic expansion to the game with three fun characters and a great conclusion to the Mortal Kombat story. It's a shame, however, that they didn't offer people the option to buy the content individually instead of together at the steep price.
Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath is the biggest update for the game yet. It adds three hours to the already epic storyline and next to that three great characters, Sheeva, Fujin, and RoboCop. Next to the new story and characters, the bloodshed can be varied in new levels with stage fatalities in a more peaceful matter with a friendship. The only real downside to the content is the price.
Netherrealm Studios and Warner Bros Games have done a great job, certainly higher than the old Kombat Packs, but once again the price is not exactly affordable.
A compelling DLC for an excellent game. It's more of the same, but with new and interesting characters.
Mortal Kombat 11 was always a perfectly fine game, and Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath gives it a few extra hours of story, a few more characters and moves, and not much else.
£35 for half a Kombat Pack and a three-hour epilogue is terrible value for money, especially as only two of the new characters are any good.
