Magicka 2 brings the spellcasting system, irreverent humor, and relationship-testing friendly fire into an all-new adventure with up to 4-player co-op for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
Magicka 2 is also available on PC.
Powered by a compelling magic system that allows limitless possibilities, Magicka 2 offers imaginative excitement that's best enjoyed with others.
Magicka 2 is a great coop game, no matter who you play with. It's no longer as fresh as the original episode, but it's indeed better.
If you liked the original game, you'll also enjoy Magicka 2. Without much improvement, this sequel is much more fun in co-op.
If you've got some friends who like blowing each other up and don't mind wearing out their fingers punching in spell combinations, you could probably have a decent enough time. If you're looking for something with more depth to it, or are hungry for a solo adventure, Magicka 2 is one spellbook best left locked in the library.
If you liked Magicka, you'll also appreciate this sequel, but if you hoped for Magicka 2 as a game with many new features you will be a bit disappointed. Even so Magicka 2 is still a funny game and improves those flaws found in the predecessor.
Overall, there is much to commend in this magical blaster – just make sure that you bring a friend.
In the end, Magicka 2 almost feels like two different games. If you choose to play through the game on your own, you will regularly become frustrated at the game’s control scheme, its random difficulty spikes and overwhelming and unfair nature. On the other hand, if you team up with friends, you’ll get a far more enjoyable experience that doesn’t fix all the game’s problems, but does make them easier to deal with.
