Its skillful blend of witty writing, fun shooting, and tactical tower defense makes for hours of replayable gameplay. Take into account the loot grind that Iron Brigade inspires, and the online co-op, and Double Fine's created a title I hope turns into a franchise.
A brilliant game if you're a fan of the Tower Defense genre or the Action genre.
Iron Brigade is a very good game. The mix of genres works out just right, as the tactical notions of a tower defense game blend in well with the action of a third-person mech shooter.
Each aspect is well-executed, but there’s no soul, none of that extra, zany magic stuff that made Plants vs Zombies so lovable. If you are a fan of Tower Defense, with an inclination towards cooperation and social relations, you’re in for a treat. [October 2012]
Spending time with Iron Brigade is a very relaxing thing - the game will entertain you, even make you laugh. However, as well as the other tower defense games it does have those symptoms without a cure - stereotypical gameplay kicks in very soon. And Co-op gameplay is way too easy.
Iron Brigade could have become an alternative to Dungeon Defenders, if not for annoying bugs, blurry graphics and very low difficulty that kill most of the fun.
Quite mad and quite funny tower defense action could be more playable if the controls were not so complicated. [Nov 2012]
