Halo 2: Anniversary comes to PC as the next episode in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Now optimized for PC, experience the impeccably remastered edition of the original Halo 2 game. Following the destruction of Halo, humankind experiences a short-lived victory.
Eager for revenge, the Covenant launches a surprise attack on Earth, but they find themselves ill-prepared to defeat the UNSC’s home fleet and are forced to flee into slipspace. When the Master Chief pursues his overzealous enemies, they discover yet another Halo ring, uncovering long-buried secrets, including an unlikely ally, that will dramatically alter the course of the Human-Covenant Conflict forever.
Halo 2 is Halo 2, period. Now it is playable on PC. So, if you have a PC and didn’t play Halo 2, you know what to do.
Halo 2: Anniversary is an excellent game, bringing fantastic first-person action and a compelling continuation of the story. The characters - Master Chief, Arbiter, Oracle, and more, all bring something to the table in a well-done script. Even those who just come for the shooting will likely be engrossed with what's happening in the plot. Of course, Halo 2's emphasis is still on shooting action, and it delivers that.
The port of Halo 2: Anniversary is good in many ways, but suffers from big issues in others. Overall, it's fine — but "fine" isn't good enough for Halo.
Halo 2 Anniversary is a blast to play, but like the other games in The Master Chief Collection, it has problems, too. The non-stop action is occasionally sidelined by bugs, so patiently wait for fixes.
An excellent port of the Xbox game but the original is now so old it’s becoming difficult to enjoy even for veteran fans.
