Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 revives the good, old, action platform run & gun genre, but this time with a bunch of humor and buckets of blown off body parts. In this sequel to Guns, Gore & Cannoli, Vinnie Cannoli’s story continues and this time it’s personal.
Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 is a perfect run & gun game for reliving memories and relaxation. The game is filled with fantastic levels, enemies and great "tongue in cheek humor“.
Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 is a charming 2D action/shooter which is highly recommended to all the old and new fans of the genre and it is a bright example of how sequels can be done right.
Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 is excellent. The classic side-scrolling shooting benefits greatly from the 360-degree aiming, giving you few to no limits in dealing carnage. The presentation is still solid, and the improved co-op mechanics make this a perfect game to play with friends. Shooting fans will have a blast with this one.
Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 is a wonderful sequel that knows how to improve the level design. Too bad it is shorter than the previous game.
Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 does absolutely nothing to evolve the genre, but it’s OK. Not every game needs to be innovative, and this Belgian run’n’gun excels at squeezing every drop of fun out of every minute of gameplay using simple means and it looks amazing while doing it. [05/2018, p.54]
A formula that still works quite well, in short, and which is hard to complain about that much.
While the actual story felt like it was trying to drive me away from the action, Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 kept me in by being a really stellar side-scroller. The shooting felt great, the environments were well-designed and chock full of enemies to beat, and the arenas were challenging without being cheap. Certainly not as sweet as its namesake overall, but you’d be crazy to turn down this cannoli without giving it a chance.
