GIGA WRECKER is a 2D puzzle-platform action game developed and published by Game Freak. You play as a cyborg girl, who has the power of reconstructing debris and scraps into various weapons, and explore a world invaded by an army of mysterious robots.
Giga Wrecker has the attractive presentation and unique blend of genres that make for a cult classic, with only a few slip-ups getting in the way of true greatness. But even as is, it’s a terrific game with some clever ideas that also puts up just enough of a fight in every area to end up both challenging and fun in perfect amounts.
Game Freak has made a fun and interesting game, proving again they are a talented team capable of delivering many different gameplay ideas. It's not their best game, though, but it's definitely enjoyable.
Giga Wrecker’s experimental, low-budget nature is not for everyone, but if you give the game a chance, you might enjoy its great physics-based environmental puzzles and challenging boss fights. [05/2017, p.44]
Giga Wrecker Alt is neither revolutionary nor without issues, and in fact is suffering from some obvious problems, but at the same time it offers a challenging and entertaining experience mixed with great story and interesting characters. With Giga Wrecker Alt, Game Freak showed that one of the most important things is to believe in your team, and to give them time and space to develop their ideas.
