Set in a huge open world, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen presents a rewarding action combat experience. Players embark on an epic adventure in a rich, living world with three AI companions, known as Pawns. These partners fight independently, demonstrating prowess and ability that they have developed based on traits learned from each player.
PC users can share these Pawns online and reap rewards of treasure, tips and strategy hints for taking down the terrifying enemies. Pawns can also be borrowed when specific skills are needed to complete various challenging quests.
What you essentially have here is a definitive edition of one seriously amazing action RPG.
A classic after all these years, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has certainly been outclassed in many areas and this PC port shows it, but its peerless combat and peon mechanics are still features that many current day games would benefit from incorporating.
A very special gaming experience that no RPG fan should miss, especially this brand new version that improved an already great game.
Dragon's Dogma was never prefect, but it was good enough to overcome all its shortcomings and have us playing for hours and hours. This PC version is also the best way to enjoy it.
The gameplay is a healthy challenge. It’s good value for money. All in all it’s such a charming and engaging piece of work that as soon as I’ve wrapped this review up I’ll be straight back on it. So farewell.
Not perfect, but still a shining example of a stellar RPG and one that fans of the genre should readily seek out.
So Dragon's Dogma has worthwhile elements even if it feels dated, and even if I very nearly quit just before hitting the all-important twist that actually made the story worthwhile.
