Doraemon meets Story of Seasons in this new, fresh take on farming!Japan's adored Doraemon franchise comes to Steam in Story of Seasons, a beloved farming simulation series lasting over 20 years. The setting is Natura, and at the center of this land is the mystical Big Tree. Doraemon and friends will each take on a role to help out around town! The theme of this experience is creating bonds with the town residents, and while doing so, enjoying the heart-warming interactions through each character and the part they play in the story.
But building a farm and raising horses and cattle like in other Story of Seasons games isn't the only thing to do. Explore the town of Natura, go on adventures, catch bugs and much much more! Fans of the Doraemon series will also be happy to know that Doraemon's gadgets can be used to assist you in your new, everyday life!Enjoy the nostalgia of Doraemon and Story of Seasons while helping Noby live his farm life in this unique, lovable land!.
Doraemon: Story of Seasons is beautifully executed, and it’s one of the most engaging Story of Seasons games I’ve ever played. The story is great and progresses without overly excessive downtime in between major events, and there’s no shortage of things to do to keep you entertained. Though the core gameplay may be tedious for some, it’s completely engrossing for others who love games of this nature or have loved Story of Seasons games in the past. As for me, I hope that Noby and his goofy friends stay trapped in Natura for a while — I won’t be ready to leave life on the farm anytime soon.
Doraemon: Story of Seasons is a game with a slow start and a story that feels like a mere excuse. But it is also true that those of us who play these types of games do so by projecting a long-term farm. If we're patient, we will find an experience that rewards us handsomely and turns out to be one of the most complete farm games out there.
Doraemon: Story of Seasons continues to keep the essence and charm of the original videogame, with its same strengths and weaknesses. PS4 players can enjoy a relaxed title, with all the mechanics of the series, but limited in options and a somewhat wasted story.
I’d recommend Doraemon Story of Seasons to fans of the series and farming sims alike. Sure, you won’t get to experience marriage like other SOS games, but you do get fancy doodads. There’s plenty to do, lots of ways to spend your coin, and fishing is super easy and relaxing. Just a great way to unwind at the end of a long day.
Within Doraemon Story of Seasons beats the heart of what makes the farm sim genre engaging. Unfortunately, the controls don't offer many favors, progression takes a great deal of time, and the early game demands far too much organization to feel productive. Doraemon is not for the farming sim feign of heart, which contradicts its family-themed aesthetic and narrative. Consider Doraemon Story of Seasons a recommendation only for fans who love both franchises.
Doraemon Story of Seasons is a competent farming sim with an enticing look that’s unfortunately hampered by snail-paced narrative elements and the wrong kind of tedium overwhelming its gameplay.
Overall, this game feels like a watered-down Story of Seasons experience in the end, one that has traded gameplay and variety away for story and themes. Still, it's undeniable that the game is very unique, as it focuses on the Doraemon story and characters. This fact alone has changed the formula in a number of ways, for better or worse. Personally, I'd rather have a more robust and in-depth farming experience, but I can easily see how Doraemon fans would enjoy this title.
