Additionally, team up with your friends in the online mode that redefined Call of Duty by introducing kill streaks, XP, Prestige and more in customizable, classic multiplayer modes.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered is also available on PS4.
Even after ten years the campaign is as engrossing as ever while the multiplayer focuses on classic gun battles on huge maps. Unfortunately this is not yet available as a stand-alone.
Apart from the lighting, I can’t really complain about anything. The performance is solid and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has never looked better. Just our of curiosity I went back to the PC version and this remaster looks so much better even on consoles. The developers need to be applauded. For those of you who were wondering if Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered was worth it, I can tell you without a shred of doubt that it definitely is.
The campaign is still just as epic as before. The multiplayer is tremendous and offers a whole different challenge to its sibling, Infinite Warfare, with a much different way of approaching the game and your tactics inside it. And it looks terrific, especially if you look at it nine years ago first.
A great remaster that can be considered almost a remake. It may be too old on its gameplay basics, and doesn't have the deep customization options of its older brothers, but still manages to entertain either on the campaign or on the multiplayer side of the game.
Infinity Ward's seminal Call of Duty gets the revamp it deserves; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered gives the 2007 shooter a new lease of life, enabling newcomers to see what all the fuss was about and veterans the chance to relive a classic. The best Call of Duty game just got even better.
Put simply, Modern Warfare is no longer modern — though the combat and, in some ways, the action-movie story at its foundation are ageless, its level design and lack of campaign progression reveal its true age. But it’s not outdated, it’s classic, and the considerable effort that has gone into improving the models, textures, and effects have enhanced it enough that playing through the campaign again was rewarding.
