Itâs fun and frantic, and has plenty of replayability. It just happens to sound poor and look dated.
It's a classic that's been lovingly brought back to life by Rebellion.
Battlezone 98 Redux prevails because it keeps the identity of the original, without alienating any modern audiences. The game shows its age in terms of its graphics, its controls, and its story. But the timeless blend of action and strategy are what makes this game stay fresh, and with the strategy genre becoming stale with each new release, perhaps this remaster is just what it needs to revitalise it.
Even with its flaws within the control schemes or the mission design, this is a very unique take on RTS.
Some games are âtoo old to changeâ, but sometimes it's just not necessary. Battlezone proves it, it can beat the competition even in its original form with its attractive gameplay and classic look.
This is the kind of game where the people who are going to play it and love it already know they are going to play it and love it.
