Among the Sleep invites you into the mind and body of a two year old child. After being put to bed one evening, mysterious things start to happen. Played in first person, the game lets its players immerse themselves in a child's limitless imagination.
This is a perspective we all have a distant familiarity with, but few can clearly remember what it felt like. In the borderland between dream and reality, surreal creatures and diverse environments will present you with both physical and mental obstacles that challenge your creativity.
Here we have a stylish and original horror adventure, which manages to scare. The ending is quite thought-provoking. The game is quite short, but the time spent on it is definitely quality time. [Aug 2014]
Given it’s a fairly short playthrough I wouldn’t be paying full price for it… but if you can get it on sale it is worth getting if for no other reason than to see another form of terror placed into game form. Jump scares have nothing on the impact this has.

Among the Sleep is a distinctive and promising first game from new Norwegian studio Krillbite, and though the dreams it conjures might be scary, it ultimately leaves you with the feeling that you're strong enough to face your fears, in dreams or otherwise.
It becomes another horror game, where the fact of being a baby is kind of irrelevant, which is a shame taking into account this was its most distinctive aspect. It's short, but it does have some good moments though, so we think it deserves a try if you like the genre.
An original and promising concept left unfulfilled by disappointing gameplay, Among the Sleep is recommended only to those who want to experience a unique take on the horror genre.
That's what's most disappointing; there's absolutely the spark of a really cool whatever-this-genre-is game in Among the Sleep, and for a while it looks like it's going to get there. Too bad it ends barely a quarter of the way in, passing the baton to something both much less interesting and perpetually trapped in its shadow.
