Players have their own customisable ships and can meet people, become a trader, bounty hunter, explorer, scavenger or all of them at once.
The hope is that in the future the development team can add a multiplayer component.
Those with affinity for the kind of nuanced technical challenges of running a space freight business will be enraptured, but such players will be far from the only ones. In its best moments, Objects in Space can work a unique kind of magic. Few other games pull away the barriers between ship and captain so completely, and yet lean so hard on the mundane.
Ambitious, inventive and with the tense atmosphere of submarine movies, this is a nice little gem for everybody who might be interested in a different, deglorified take on Privateer or Starlancer.
Peculiar and compelling, Objects is Spaces needs more balance and some refining to finally become a butterfly.
As someone who loves a bit of space-trucking, it is indescribably refreshing to have some handcrafted characters sprinkled into the mix.
