You're part of a small team sent to film a promotional video for a groundbreaking discovery: meteoric Debris embedded deep in Arctic ice that provides clean, hyper-efficient energy. But there's an accident. Stranded at the bottom, injured and running out of time, your only hope for survival is to reach the surface.
But something else is going on. Things aren't right, they don't add up, and you can't help but speculate. Why is this happening? As you fight your way to safety, you'll need to figure out what's behind this surreal world and your desperate situation.
Knowing will make all the difference. Escape together or die alone.
Debris is by no means is a heavy hitter among other games this year, but does lend itself to a very questionable and interesting experience. If this game had more immersive elements to it such as VR, then I would lean a little more in favor of recommending a play-through. If you are looking for a drawn-out mind bender this game is for you, but be sure to grab two copies and play with a friend.
The core concept of Debris is promising, but the dull world and mechanics diminish the experience. [Apr 2018, p.75]
Debris has good ideas, but fails miserably when it puts them into practice. Underwater survival and a plot that are quite interesting are not enough to compensate the poor AI and gameplay.
