A dark and violent crime thriller set against the backdrop of 1940’s Los Angeles. Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps, an LAPD detective is thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high.
In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L. A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.
Utilizing revolutionary facial animation technology that captures every nuance of an actor's facial performance in astonishing detail, L. A. Noire blends the breathtaking action with true detective work for an unprecedented interactive experience.
Solve brutal crimes, plots and conspiracies inspired by real crimes from 1947 Los Angeles, one of the most corrupt and violent times in L. A. history.
Search for clues, chase down suspects and interrogate witnesses as you struggle to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide. Features: Showcased in 1080p for the PlayStation 4 and stunning 4K for PlayStation 4 Pro. Includes the complete original game and all additional downloadable content plus new collectibles and detective suits to unlock, each with unique special abilities.
Features an array of technical and graphical enhancements for a more realistic Los Angeles.
L.A. Noire is also available on Nintendo Switch, XBox One & PC.
Noire remains a different experience: different in rhythms, in shades, in emotions in dance. Unique, and wonderfully imperfect.
L.A. Noire still delivers a solid, compelling experience, improving the original graphics in many ways.
Despite some technical wrinkles, after six years L.A. Noire remains a great game, although we expected better as remastered operation.
L.A Noire has remained a great action-adventure game and a strong detective thriller, filled with great cases, investigations and interrogations. The new graphics look better, though the difference is not very significant. The city of angels is alive and vibrant but barely includes any extra content. If you played L.A Noire sometime in the last few years, you would probably want to grab it for a better playthrough. If you haven't played L.A Noire at all, it would be a crime to miss it out.
LA Noire remaster hit us out of nowhere and brings a nice high definition version of the game to our consoles. Unfortunately, it doesn’t bring many fixes with it, nor does it expand on the huge city they’ve built.
L.A Noire's facial expressions are still incredible and the game shows us that not every open world game needs pure action.
The beating heart of L.A. Noire is its ability to make you feel like a 1940s detective rubbing your nose against the seedy underbelly of a city full of secrets. But those considerable charms can't hide a half-hearted port that comes with a $40 price tag to boot.
