Ghost Recon Wildlands Fallen Ghost is the second expansion or DLC of Ubisoft's third-person action and tactical combat game, where we put ourselves at the head of a small group of relentless Ghosts, an elite section of the US Army. To overthrow and eliminate the bosses of the big drug gangs. This expansion brings us a new enemy, a former special forces member who has decided to change sides, so the missions will now not be as simple as this new enemy knows our tactics of combat.
But calmly, although there is a considerable increase in the difficulty of these new missions, our team will have available unique weapons of this DLC as well as new abilities specially designed to end this new enemy. Remember that this product is a DLC of Ghost Recon Wildlands game so it is necessary to have the base game installed in our Ubisoft account, or Steam, to access this new content.
Ghost Recon Wildlands does not really innovate. However, it offers enjoyable tactical stealth gameplay set in an impressive, vast world, and provides a fun, memorable and rewarding experience in both co-op and solo playthroughs. Main missions are well-designed and offer great variety and challenge, and although the story is rather predictable, it has great presentation and ample amounts of information to support it. It is, in its core, a true Tom Clancy title and worthy successor to the Ghost Recon series.
Wildlands is a great mix-up of some of the best elements of Ubisoft's most prominent IPs, but struggles to find its own identity. Military-minded co-op fans will definitely want to check this out, while solo players can also expect up to 50 hours of open-world fun.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands is equal parts new approach to a storied franchise and familiar and well-trod open world systems. While it doesn’t break a great deal of new ground for the genre, when played with friends this cooperative open-world game can be an amazing amount of fun. Those moments are tempered by technical mishaps and inconsistencies that can be patched, but as a result, this launch ride is going to have some technical potholes that put a damper on an otherwise excellent experience.
Many issues, like linear progression and limited AI, that I have with Wildlands are issues rooted to the ‘open-world’ genre, and therefore not worth holding against Ubisoft. Wildlands offers a tight finesse for a shooter, and is sure to be enjoyed by gamers; however, it does little to go beyond this.
Fun shooting and open world are great, but there aren’t many Ghost Recon elements and game simply feels dull at times.
Utilises the amazing PC technology of today to be, eh, okay. [Issue#261, p.68]
Proof that bad writing can ruin anything, Ghost Recon Wildlands feels like the death knell for a particular style of open-world game. Occasionally great moments, like the co-op play and the Sync Shot, are sadly drowned out.
