Ghost of a Tale is an action-RPG adventure, set in a medieval world populated only by animals. You play as Tilo, a courageous minstrel mouse on a perilous quest to escape the jails of Dwindling Heights Keep and discover the fate of his true love Merra. Armed with a mouse's talent for stealth, agility and disguise - and a love of music - you'll explore the towers and dungeons of the keep, navigating its dangers and discovering its secrets.
Dwindling Heights is a dangerous place for a little mouse, and Tilo's not much of a fighter. When confronted with enemies twice your size, nimbleness and guile are your allies. Talk to the characters you meet - make enemies and allies - and leave no stone unturned in your quest to find Merra.
From the very first moments the sense of importance of the whole adventure is made clear and whilst it may not be the biggest indie release of the year, I’m willing to bet it’ll be one of the best. This is a definite must-buy.
Ghost of a Tale is a deep game with a lot to tell. History and dialogues immerse you in a world of fantasy that you will not want to leave. Visually is beautiful, but with an improvable performance. However, Ghost of a Tale is a great game that many should not miss.
Ghost of a Tale offers one of the best indie stories we have seen so far. A great adventure game with metroidvania and RPG elements, even it has some technical problems that need to be solved.
The biggest gripe I had was the map and traveling system. It gave me a sense of wanting to give up because I felt too bothered to run to certain areas. It’s what may hinder people from reaching the story’s conclusion. If you do manage to stick with it, you’ll have a true appreciation of a world you’ll eventually want to know more about.
A gorgeous looking stealth with some rpg elements and too many mechanic simplifications. Worth a try, if you're searching something simple.
Ghost Of A Tale is repetitive, but quite endearing in a rough-edged sort of way. [Issue#177, p.86]
