The second and final expansion to the sci-fi role-playing game. The core of Murder on Eridanos is to solve a crime… and murder is just the beginning of what you will find. You will have to interrogate witnesses, learn about potential alibis, and argue who you believe is responsible.
This also leads to some entertaining outcomes as it is up to you to decide what to do. Do you falsely accuse an innocent spectator? Do you present a poor case with lack of evidence? How will others respond? What happens if you try to convince people that you somehow are responsible for the murder? Yes, even that is possible.
The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos is the game at its absolute best. It's a great murder mystery and a perfect excuse to jump back in.
Ultimately, Murder on Eridanos serves as a magnificent send-off to The Outer Worlds. It’ll keep you hooked from beginning to end; it’s a shining example of how to do downloadable content and has me eagerly awaiting the Fallout: New Vegas sequel that only exists in my head.
The Outer Worlds Murder On Eridanos is my favorite story in the Outer Worlds. Obsidian did a great job at presenting this murder mystery and created an experience I wanted to explore and adventure in. A bit too much hand holding lead to a few moments of mild irritation and a lack of any new combat mechanics feels like a bit of a missed opportunity. Overall, though, it was a great experience and one I would recommend if you’re a fan of Outer Worlds. The DLC drops today(as of the time of publication) on Steam so head on over there to check it out.
Despite some occasional qualitative fluctuations and a small failure in the final bars, in fact, the history of the DLC remains on the excellent levels seen both in the base game and in the previous expansion.
The Outer Worlds - Murder on Eridanos is a sizable DLC offering that exhibits some fun murder-mystery hijinks with the same Outer Worlds flair you've come accustomed to in the rest of the game. With some niggling quest issues and an unsatisfying conclusion, I'm not sure if it is excellent enough to convince players to spend $15 and dust off a game they've already completed more than a year ago, but there's still fun to be had for those looking for more.
A few more hours of gameplay for hardcore fans of the original title.
While Murder on Eridanos has fun moments focusing on investigating and dialogue choices, it is actively undermined by shoving combat in your face and a twist that makes events leading up to that point feel pointless.
