Graveyard Keeper takes a proven, but seldom used, format of game and gives it the fresh twist that needs to feel wholly unique while not straying too far from the blueprints that would make it compelling. Maybe, just maybe, if you aren't too attached to your yearly run through of Luigi's Mansion or Resident Evil 4 for Halloween you'll consider picking up Graveyard Keeper for something different. Or you could do it now... You should do it now.

A macabre and fun resource management game that will only be overshadowed by its instability of fps and other mechanical issues.

Although many comparisons can be drawn from such games as Stardew Valley, Graveyard Keeper very much stands on its own two feet. This game will not be for everyone due to the play-style, however, if you are partial to the pixelated farming sim genre and have a curiosity for something a little darker, I fully recommend that you consider adding this game to your collection.

Managing a graveyard is only a part of the keeper's complex role in this game. It has many rough edges and some flaws in its pace and technical aspects, but it is also one of the most original and unique take on the simulation/management genre.

In all I found Graveyard Keeper to be an enjoyable experience if a little frustrating. It certainly isn’t a game for everyone, but for those that love a good management sim and want something a little different from the norm then Graveyard Keeper is a game I certainly recommend.

If you don't mind doing extensive web research in order to understand the ins and outs of Graveyard Keeper's gameplay progression, you'll be able to enjoy the best of what the game has to offer. However, if you would rather not deal with the hassle, I recommend passing on this one and checking out Stardew Valley instead.

Some gamers may appreciate Graveyard Keeper's grindfest of a campaign but those who are looking for something more immediately gratifying will likely become frustrated beyond repair with its convoluted systems and tedious tasks.
