Build and grow a new settlement and explore the lands surrounding it in this Peaceful Action-Adventure & Town-Builder. Search the lush forests of the Dusken Woodlands for resources, and adventure through mysterious new places to find lost artifacts. Meet strange and quirky characters along the way, invite wandering people to join your town, and befriend cute animals who may help you in your travels.
Control your team of three uniquely skilled characters to gather resources, build structures, and find treasure.
Dwarrows mixes town building, resource management, puzzle solving, and peaceful exploration into one enjoyable package. The lack of combat may turn some off, but it's not a detriment to the game. The various tasks, rewarding progression, and relaxing gameplay make this a winner for sure.
It’s a little janky in places, but the overall tone of Dwarrows is so wonderfully whimsical that you’ll struggle not to fall in love with it. It’s also a good option for those who like the idea of Animal Crossing but are either impatient or don’t own a Nintendo Switch. It scratches a similar itch, and it does so in a very satisfying manner. The third-person perspective and little puzzles and mini-games make for an intimate and warm game, and I can honestly see myself playing it every Sunday night for the rest of the year, it’s just so damn cosy.
It’s a great first civ-builder, or a low key adventuring game that dodges the awkwardness of combat and stilted camera angles. My settlement never had quite the same character as the Stardew Valley Pelican Town, or an Animal Crossing village, but that was also okay; Dwarrows doesn’t try to be everything, and the result is a welcome throwback to a game that was once lost to the late 90s.
