Bounty Battle is the indie fighting game -- a new multiplayer 2D fighting game, where you can square off as your favorite indie hero against other indie heroes from games like Guacamelee!, Darkest Dungeon, Dead Cells, and Psychonauts 2 among other awesome indies. The game features more than 30 character, each with their own companion Minion and unique abilities. It's Super Smash Bros.
meets indie games where you battle across levels inspired from indie game worlds with up to 4 players.
Bounty Battle appeals to the indie game lover with its expansive roster, but any half-interested fighting game player would tell you to stay away. A lack of modes and, more importantly, much fun in the gameplay department mean even the allure of the character list isn’t enough to save this title.
A great roster of iconic indie heroes gets overshadowed by too many technical and gameplay problems. A game that would have needed many more months of development and testing to be acceptable.
Bounty Battle on Xbox One is a great idea. With such lovable and memorable characters from a host of indie games, it seemed like a knockout idea. Yet, horrible visuals, unfinished gameplay, and terrible optimization mar the loving treatment that was given to these indie icons.
An underwhelming game, full of lag, that is janky and has issues with hit detection. There is no online multiplayer, and it’s very boring to play against the dumb AI.
Bounty Battle's character roster is the only thing it has going for it as everything else comes across like a school project gone wrong.
