Bounty Battle is the indie fighting game -- a new multiplayer 2D fighting game, where you can square off as your favorite indie hero against other indie heroes from games like Guacamelee!, Darkest Dungeon, Dead Cells, and Psychonauts 2 among other awesome indies. The game features more than 30 character, each with their own companion Minion and unique abilities. It's Super Smash Bros.
meets indie games where you battle across levels inspired from indie game worlds with up to 4 players.
Bounty Battle is an indie brawler game with good intentions and great ideas but poor gameplay that could be improved with some small changes.
There is much to appreciate in Bounty Battle: the idea, the art, the music, the combat, and the effort made by the dev team. But, at the same time, much of that effort is evident in the lack of polish and the lack of some options that many may consider essential, such as online multiplayer.
Bounty Battle is one of the coolest ideas for a game I've seen in some time, which is partly why I feel like part of my soul has been crushed. This game is an absolute mess. It's presentation is terrible, the character models are laughable, the systems are confusing, and it made me wonder half the time if my PC was broken. Given the rich roster of wonderful indie characters, this should have been a contender. Instead, this fighter's career is over before the bell even rang.
This game is a hot mess of cheap and nasty gameplay that never pays off or shows any resemblance to something fun. If the year 2020 was a fighting game, it would be called Bounty Battle.
