Worms Ultimate Mayhem is a souped-up, re-vamped, high definition reimagining of Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem, bringing both games together in one incredibly over-stuffed, over-the-top package for Xbox 360 from Xbox LIVE, for PlayStation 3 from Playstation Network and also for PC from Steam. Including all of the content from the original games, Worms Ultimate Mayhem also brings a whole host of anarchic additions � more single player missions, more puzzles, more customisation, more worms!.
Worms Ultimate Mayhem isn't the best Worms game to date but brings that great sense of humor and over the top weapons that we've grown so fond of. There are some issues with the camera and the game progress can be slow at times. Ultimate Mayhem has a lot to offer but the real Worms fans will stick to the 2D games.
A disappointment for those who hoped in a real revamp of the brand. Boxing two games in one is not enough.
The big draw of Worms used to be that loads of mad destruction were simply fun. Emphasis on simply. In the 3D environment of Worms Ultimate Mayhem, it's too tricky to use basic weapons effectively, which ruins that simple fun. Also, the graphics update in this content compilation didn't go far enough. Mediocre sequel to a once great series.
Ultimately, if you're looking for some Worms mayhem, we'd recommend sticking to the 2D variants - the recently released Worms Reloaded, for example.
