A third-person action-adventure Star Wars title from Respawn Entertainment. The Empire seeks to eradicate all Jedi after the execution of Order 66. You, a Jedi Padawan-turned-fugitive, must fight for your survival as you explore the mysteries of a long-extinct civilization in hopes of rebuilding the Jedi Order.
After narrowly escaping the Jedi purge, you’re on a quest to rebuild your fallen Order. Pick up the pieces of your shattered past and complete your Jedi training, all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors. Utilize your Jedi training to overcome your opponents and solve the mysteries that lay in your path.
Use the Force to augment the way you explore, allowing you to traverse new paths and discover parts of locations you’ve been to before. Move quickly, though. The Empire is on your trail and won’t stop until every Jedi is exterminated.
Respawn has shown us, and EA, that single player games are well enough alive and kicking and has set a bright future for the Star Wars franchise of videogames if they keep this up.
What I am sure of is that Electronic Arts is finally delivering a worthy product that meets not only what fans of this franchise are waiting for, but what every consumer anticipates when paying for a AAA game in 2019.
Respawn have done an amazing job creating an adventure Star Wars fans cannot miss. This is the game we’ve been waiting for many years, and we are not disappointed. There are some flaws, although the experience, overall, is fantastic.
It's true that Fallen Order borrows liberally from other action games, but those elements work together with Respawn's combat and environment design, and a story that finds humanity in the Force and in its characters, to hone in on what makes the world of Star Wars worthy of revisiting again and again. Even with some rough edges, Fallen Order represents one of the most compelling game additions to the Star Wars franchise in years.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has a string of wisely chosen influences, and it delivers on the long-overdue promise of a fun Jedi action-adventure. Bugs and design wrinkles irritate.
You’re going to occasionally roll your eyes at a cheesy moment or groan at a technical issue, but Respawn did right by Star Wars.
Jedi: Fallen Order is both one of the best Star Wars games to date and distressingly unrefined.
