Terrible balancing, repetitive gameplay, and a scarcity of content make Vicious Circle feel like a game that wasn't ready to be hatched.

If you’re a fan of quick, matchmade hero shooters and long for a spiritual successor to Evolve, then maybe Vicious Circle is for you. For most gamers however, I probably wouldn’t recommend this game.

Vicious Circle is an ambitious game that needed more time to really work out what it wanted to be. Its characters and overall premise could have offered up something new, and in places works well, but at the moment Vicious Circle feels extremely cluttered. Hopefully Rooster Teeth will be able to tweak the game further, as there are elements here that could really work well.

Despite its quirky humor, Vicious Circle doesn’t provide enough variety in gameplay to hold your interest much longer than your average asymmetric multiplayer game.

This isn't a bad idea, but the game doesn't do much to justify its existence.

Looking back the initial release of Vicious Circle seems like a bit of a letdown but I do think Rooster Teeth is going to be committed moving forward to enhancing the experience. While currently I would be hesitant to pay full price for this game at $22.79 CAD I would be interested to see how they build this tiny world and I could very well see it becoming a completely different story after a few major updates. For now, just try and listen to that deafening Peggy Sue wail sound clip on YouTube.
