Reincarnation is the foundation of our way of life. We celebrate the lives we’ve been given, and offer up prayers for the next. It is grief of death which shackles the living, and causes the dead to stray.
Indeed, there is no greater affront to reincarnation. So do we turn our grief to joy as we send off the dead. But the souls of those who held back their tears in life still need salvation in death.
A duty that falls to the Watchers. Their task is to guide the wandering souls known as the Lost, and serve as keepers of the Living World and the Beyond.
What Oninaki promises is a thoughtful, expertly-crafted and gorgeously-animated story that will have you seeing it through to the end and into the Beyond.
Oninaki gives us, as a watcher we can travel between the world of mortals and souls. Although the story of the game is nice and cool but unfortunately the fighting mechanics are not very useful.
Oninaki does a lot of things right. It has a compelling story and solid gameplay but doesn't take either far enough to reach the level of greatness.
Despite some obvious qualities, Oninaki loses its strenght because of too many omnipresent flaws. Poor realization, balance issues and failed dungeons sequences, there’s too much to really enjoy what’s left.
