Capturing intense moment-to-moment racing action, GRID returns with an all-new experience where every race is the chance to choose your own path, create your own story and define your legacy in the motorsport world. From the creators of the hugely successful DiRT and F1 series, Codemasters invites you to take your place in the GRID World Series and compete in intense wheel-to-wheel racing with the most iconic and desirable race cars -- current and classic, from GT through Touring and Muscle to Stock and Super Modifieds -- and in some of the world's most famous city streets, ovals and circuits. GRID captures every moment of the race, from the adrenaline rush of lights-out to the elation at the chequered flag -- and in-between, it's all action too.
Incidents come one right after the other -- tight overtakes, bumper-to bumper scrapes and competitive collisions -- all heightened by rivalries, team-mates and a nemesis driver who will all either try to help or hinder your progress as you achieve your goal of becoming the GRID World Series champion.
GRID 2019 is also available on PS4.
GRID replicates the feeling of motorsport without sacrificing any of the excitement, and it’s the most racing fun I’ve had in ages.
If you are a fan of racing games or the GRID franchise, this would be a great addition to your library!
Grid, the soft reboot of the brand, is like the original game a fun arcade racer with a few easy-to-use simulation approaches. The circumference is minimal, but on track Grid is very convincing and challenging.
Grid does not go beyond its "solid" status.
Maintaining all the trademarks that distinguished it from other arcade racers, Grid has returned boasting driving just as engaging as before. Limits are reached in some core areas of gameplay such as though such as the number of locations, and the formula may prove stale for those looking for a road less traveled.
GRID, as it stands then, is Codemasters delivering what it does best, exciting and superb racing that anyone can pickup and play, but spoiled by shortcomings to its content and online.
There’s truly a decent game here with its foundational systems that could be developed into a more well-rounded title. But as it stands this is a £45 game, it is neither fair nor warranted that this game is just okay. Codemaster’s had already promised ahead of its release that Grid (2019) would be receiving a bevy of further racetracks, cars and modes for its player base. Yet with a dwindling interest, this seems too little too late.
