DEAD OR ALIVE 6 is a fast-paced 3D fighting game, produced by Koei Tecmo Games, featuring graphics and multi-tiered stages that create a truly entertaining competitive experience. The story follows the events of DEAD OR ALIVE 5, focusing on 2 separate main narratives; namely, the battle between âNinja and DOATECâ versus âM. I.
S. T. lead by Donovanâ, and the events that occur during the 6th DEAD OR ALIVE Tournament.
New side story episodes will also be added for returning characters. Following the tradition, fights in DEAD OR ALIVE 6 PS4 are based on a triangle system: strikes beat throws, throws beat holds, and holds beat strikes. Landing a well-timed attack of the type that beats your opponentâs attack, like landing a strike when an opponent tries to throw, will result in a Hi Counter attack and do more damage.
Dead or Alive 6 is amazing. Itâs the best looking fighting game out there, bar none, and has a combat system that is both instantly accessible for newcomers, without feeling condescending, and yet also offering plenty of depth and complexity for experienced fans. Itâs not perfect; the story mode is enjoyable but slightly undercooked, and one suspects that weâll have to wait until pretty deep into the DLC strategy for the real over-the-top humour that the series is most famous for to start to really shine through. But then, those criticisms also applied to Dead or Alive 5, and that was a game that I played on an almost weekly basis for six years. I canât see Dead or Alive 6 being any different.
Dead or Alive 6 continues the trend of being a fun title that has a low barrier of entry, but offers those who wish to go deeper a lot of tools to accomplish that. The title remains one of the more visually appealing fighting games out there in the market. Team Ninja has created the framework for a tournament ready title, Itâs tough to have to appeal to a mass market, the fighting game community AND the community that stuck with them for all these years. They just need to avoid unnecessary controversies, maybe pump the breaks sheer amount of paid cosmetic DLC.
Dead or Alive 6 is not a revolutionary entry for the series, but stands as one of the best entries of the series. Its gameplay mechanics and corrections implemented make it an enjoyable game and one with an awesome approach for beginners. Also the few new ideas added to the formula are well-received and provide a degree of freshness to this well-known experience.
Dead or Alive 6 serves up great fighting mechanics, solid offline mode variety, and looks good while doing it. If you're a fan of the series, it's well worth checking out, even as this latest entry stumbles in the online arenas and the disappointing approach to customization.
Dead or Alive 6 offers the same fun the previous installments did. There is not a huge leap forward in graphics, but in terms of gameplay there are some fun new elements. Unfortunately the game lacks diversity in multiplayer modes.
Dead or Alive 6 is a fun experience, but lose any comparison with the previous chapters of the series. The gameplay suffers from the inclusion of new mechanics, and the offer doesnât shine for a technical sector that's far from modern standards.
Is Dead or Alive 6 worth picking up? No. Unless you really (and I mean really) need to know what happens in the next installment of the franchise. Yes, credit where credit is due with the gameplay, roster, and visuals, but everything about the game just has this air of âlackingâ around it. The soundtrack could have done a lot more, most of the design was just plain bad, the story felt thrown together at the last minute, and the length of the campaign just doesnât justify the ÂŁ54 price tag attached to the game.
