Assume the role of an elite fighter pilot and immerse yourself in virtual reality space combat. Become an elite spaceship pilot in the sprawling sci-fi universe of EVE. Join the Valkyrie, an outlaw band of galactic pirates, and take up arms to claim what's yours.
Trade cannon fire for cash as you chase wealth and notoriety on the edge of space.
Story issues aside, EVE: Valkyrie is an excellent game and the most-polished of the bunch for the PlayStation VR’s launch lineup.
Even with slightly less impressive visuals due to a lower resolution than on Rift Valkyrie shows how immersive and engrossing action can be if it is developed for VR and VR only.
PlayStation VR is all about immersion and EVE: Valkyrie does a fantastic job at handling this, and even with the presence of microtransactions, EVE: Valkyrie is still one of the best experiences thus far on PSVR.
Eve: Valkyrie is the type of game that I have been waiting for a while now. It blends tight, responsive controls with some of the best action available for VR. Unfortunately it is slightly marred by unwelcome microtransactions and an teasingly brief single player. If you want a multiplayer space dogfighter then this is the best out there currently, however there could be more content for the price tag.
EVE: Valkyrie is a delight to play, with tight and accessible controls. It’s the space-bound dogfighting dream you’ve always wanted, but a lack of single player content and some nasty microtransactions take the shine out of it all.
EVE Valkyrie is an interesting, but controversial project. It's fun to play, but offers too little content to justify the full price.
Reveals itself to be a lot like space: beautiful, but mostly empty. [Christmas 2016, p.96]
