You are an astronaut awaking from cryonics not in the solar system, but… out there… in a far and unknown place of the galaxy. In Out There, you will have to survive, tinkering your ship with what you can gather drifting in the void, and spot garden planets to refill your oxygen supply. Space is an hostile place ; dangerous and mysterious adventures will mark each step of your travel.
You will not only meet intelligent species that won’t care about you, but also deal with ancient powers linked to your destiny and the fate of mankind itself.
Out There: Omega edition is an astounding textual and visual space adventure, and a good catch for every sci-fi fan.
Although the gameplay itself may prove tiresome over long periods, the game’s story elements, sense of isolation, and soundtrack make Out There a more-than-worthwhile purchase.
Intriguing game with unique atmosphere, interesting narrative and engaging gameplay.
It shouldn‘t work, there‘s gaping holes in its structural integrity, it should have broken up in orbit. Yet somehow Out There remains intact, exerting a mysterious gravitational force that kept pulling me back.
Just like in Sunless Sea, at some point, gameplay inevitably gets in the way of enjoying the story. As soon as you master all the elements, gadgets and upgrades, flying through space will become a nuisance.
