Helm a party of brave adventurers through the dangerous dungeons of the Warhammer world in the search for wealth and fame, as players uncover and explore new settlements. In their quest for legendary weapons, players encounter enemies including evil Night Goblins, dangerous Orcs, gigantic River Trolls and hordes of the evil Skaven, hellbent on destroying the band of adventurers.
A truly old style dungeon crawler that has the merit of slavishly reproduce the mechanics of now unobtainable board game, managing to be fulfilling despite an inescapable simplicity. The main flaw resides in the direct porting from iOS: for the PC version was reasonable to expect some optimization.
An entertaining, tactical dungeon crawler with a lot of different classes and a steady supply of items. The cash shop is mildly annoying though, thankfully you don’t really need it.
Despite its obvious low budget I’ve already devoted 60 hours to Warhammer Quest – first on iOS, and now on PC. The atmosphere of the Old World recreated by Rodeo Games does not cease to delight me. [03/2014, p.80]
Warhammer Quest is an old school boardgame-tablet-port RPG that fails to enhance itself for a platform that requires a bit more both in terms of gameplay and aesthetics. If a light RPG adventure is what you are after then Warhammer Quest is a sure bet, but if you're looking for something on par with what the PC market offers nowadays then definitely look elsewhere.
The game is a very poor (and expensive) porting of the title already available on iOS. Some quests and random events are well-written, but the gameplay is too repetitive and gets tedious quickly.
It's a lame conversion from the iPad version, so you'd better stick with the mobile one.
Wherever you go in Warhammer Quest, you will find nothing but repetitive dungeons and battles. The original board game was fun because you played it with live people, and it simply doesn’t work as a pure single-player experience.
