TRISTOY is a story-driven 2D co-op platformer designed from the ground up exclusively for two player co-operative gaming enjoyment! Set in TRISTOY PC, an ancient fortress in the middle of the Sea of Shards you play together as Prince Freedan and the Wizard Stayn. You and a friend are forced to team up to try and escape the dungeon and defeat a common enemy, the Witch Ink. Explore dungeons filled with traps and monsters - puzzle, jump and fight your way out as you attempt to escape from Tristoy.
Designed to be played together on one screen, Tristoy’s engrossing non-linear story features multiple endings and requires you to work together, testing your friendship and forcing you to confront moral dilemmas and make some hard choices.
Overall, it's a decent co-op experience - I just wish it was harder.
Tristoy has interesting ideas on the narrative side, but lacks in execution. Considering all the technical issues, it seems that the game cannot be judged as entirely sufficient.
Expensive, bugged, unpolished. Sadly Tristoy fails to deliver what it promises and manages to bore after a couple dozen minutes. It may entertain you only if you’re really into the genre, otherwise just look somewhere else.
A co-op platforming experience with moral decisions sound interesting. But in the end the small team bit off more than they can chew. Visually a stylistic nightmare, technically too fragile and unnerving background music make this more of a chore than a fun game to play or watch.
